Australia’s First Niche Business Group Buying Site Goes Live

Although the group buying sites are very popular in Austrlia, there are few business-to-business (B2B) group buying sites. Sqwark!, as the first business group buying site, aims to cut Australian online retailers’ purchasing costs and help them grow their businesses, at the same time as providing suppliers to them with a new, totally performance-based marketing channel.
Sqwark! generally offers limited numbers of deals for a short duration. Taking its first deal as the example, it is an Australia-wide online accounting setup and integration offer at $99 for $1450 value from Dolman Bateman Chartered Accountant, with only 5 available.

You will soon find the deals at DealGet. Keep your eyes on us.

OurDeal offers cheap deals for cheap dates

Group buying site OurDeal has launched a new offering to allow its customers to hide from their date that they are using a discount voucher.

Through “Friendly Date” deals, you can enjoy food in the great restaurants without leaving a hole in your wallet; have no menu restrictions, so you and your date can order what you want; and there can no vouchers.

For me, the highlight of this offer is that no one will know I use a group buying deal, as the bill will not reflect my voucher and I just need to slip my discreet booking card into the bill. That is really cool.

Groupon Now!

As an announcement made by Groupon on 6 July 2011 that Groupon Now! location-based deals platform is currently reaching a total of 20  US markets, the difference between Groupon Now! and Groupon’s traditional deals is that offers in Groupon Now! can be redeemed instantly and are good only for the day on which they are made available. Users can see deals offered in their nearby vicinity by Smartphone. This is a new trend and business model. Although there is no such group buying service offering in Australian, sooner or later it will go up.
